Beginning Of New
Siri, play “Morning Mood” by Edvard Grieg. 🧘🏽♂️
As I wake up next to my wife, and to the morning noises of our 2 1/2-year-old on the first day of the new year, a little classical music seemed appropriate with all the possibilities of the next 365 days swirling in my head. So at 9:08am I thought I would take a few minutes to write the first of what I hope to be many articles, letters, journal entries, or whatever you want to call it, to you, my Bridge Builder family.
I’ll keep it short and sweet…
My hope for you, me, and us, in 2025 is that we take the time to:
Position ourselves as grateful
Don’t forget all that was good in 2024. As Bridge Builders, our work often asks us to reflect on where we’ve been so we can move forward with purpose. I know my short memory of all the good that has been can sometimes cause me to sabotage what’s to come. Let’s not allow our fears of what may be, blind us to all that has, is, and will be good.
Hold on to one another and be open to others
Lean into and continue to cultivate authentic relationships because we will need each other more than ever. As a Bridge Builder, you know relationships are at the heart of transformation. While committing to the authentic relationships you have already forged, let’s not edge others out, but remain open to how new relationships can stretch and shape us in ways we never imagined.
Be patient and commit to Cathedral Thinking
The truth is, you may not see the fruit of your bridge-building in your lifetime, but as a community, we believe in the long-term impact of our work. Have the vision and belief that what we build today is more than worth it for the benefit of future generations. This is why our work matters.
Remember each year, month, week, day, hour, minute, second is the BEGINNING OF NEW
Let’s make the best of each moment!
